That's how the current owners described the historic reconstruction of the Elisha M. Ellsworth homestead. A devastating fire destroyed the original house and MBA Design was called into service. The new home designed and constructed by MBA recreates the floor plan of the 1880 structure. Items that could be salvaged, such as stone, doors, hardware, shutters, and even plants were refinished, repurposed and/or reinstalled where possible. The back patio was designed to include an enclosed sun porch with custom screens, a waterfall feature, and stonework. Through extensive collaboration with the knowledgeable and talented homeowners, a fresh, exciting, and historically inspired interior was realized. MBA's talented trades and special material suppliers inspired these results.
